A FANTASY writer is making a magical appearance in Reading later this month to sign copies of the eagerly-anticipated first volume in his new series.

Raymond Feist will be visiting Waterstones to unveil 'King of Ashes' - part of the Firemane Saga - from 12.30pm on April 27.

Born and raised in California, his debut novel 'Magician' was voted one of the UK's best-loved books. He is also the author if the critically acclaimed Riftwar Saga.

Feist has sold more than 15 million copies across the globe and has seen his work translated into many different languages.

Legions of fans have been hooked on his Riftwar Cycle, making Feist a bestseller time after time.

King of Ashes focusses on the ruthless Lodavico, the King of Sandura, a man with ambitions to rule the world.

Following the death of the King of Ithrace, four great kingdoms remain on the brink of war and a huge bounty is placed on the head of the king's newborn son.
