READING West MP Alok Sharma was shoved and branded a 'Tory ****' while out rallying support for his political party in the town last weekend.
The Conservative politician took to social media to describe a shocking confrontation in which a resident verbally blasted him.
The resident also claimed that he was the person responsible for tearing down Mr Sharma's election campaign posters last year.
Mr Sharma, who now serves as the government's minister for employment, Tweeted: "Really positive day until I came to a house where I was shoved and told 'F**k off you Tory c***'.
"Same guy said he had pulled down my posters at #GE2017."
Mr Sharma, who was helping the Reading Conservative Party with their local election campaign, revealed the man later apologised for his actions and said the pair shook hands.
