A THIEF has been jailed for more than three years after he admitted to stealing a number of items.
Stephen Chandler, of Newtown Road, Newbury, was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on March 5.
He pleaded guilty to one count of burglary of a dwelling at received a total sentence of three years and nine months.
The conviction and punishment relates to an incident on January 10 at Priory Place, Greenham, Newbury, when a property was broken into and a number of items stolen.
Investigating officer, detective constable Liz Saunders, from Newbury police station, said: “This sentence sends out a strong signal that we will not tolerate burglary which has a lasting impact on victims and the courts will deal robustly with those who are guilty.”
