A HOMELESS charity is set to benefit from the fundraising efforts of one of the town’s MPs.

Matt Rodda will be on the starting line for the Reading Half Marathon on March 18 along with hundreds of other runners to raise money for Launchpad.

The Labour politician for Reading East has been a strong supporter for the charity since rising to power last summer and took Jeremy Corbyn to Launchpad’s offices when he visited the town in August to talk about the housing crisis.

Reading Chronicle:

Mr Rodda said: “I am a member of a local running club and have done half marathon runs before, although this is my first half marathon in aid of Launchpad.

“I hope the weather is mild for this year's run, as one year we had freezing rain.”
