CHARITABLE children have decided to help tackle homelessness by organising donations of much-needed clothes for the winter months.

Pupils from English Martyrs Catholic Primary School have chosen the Ark Project as the school’s charity project.

On Friday, the school received a visit from the mobile sleeper and children were able to hand over toiletries, socks, hats, gloves and blankets donated by parents and students.

The school council had the chance to learn more about the project and future fundraising activities are planned to help tackle rough sleeping in the future.

The Ark Project is a double-decker bus, converted into a mobile resource centre, providing 10 upstairs beds and valuable food and showers to those in need.
