A SUCCESSFUL scheme to keep communities and rivers clean is calling for more volunteers to come forward.
Reading Rescue has become a regular event in the town since 1989 and the bi-annual clean-up will return on March 2-3.
Willing volunteers from a range of businesses take part in litter picking across a number of locations with the support of Thames Water.
Kirsti Wilson from Connect Reading said: “Reading Rescue gives businesses the perfect way to get involved with their local community and to make a big difference by doing something very simple.
"You can get some fresh air, meet new people, work towards your daily 10,000 steps and go home with that warm feeling knowing that you made a difference."
