AN INSPIRING mother who overcame the heartbreak of stillbirth has been nominated for a national award for helping others through their grief.
Jessica Clasby Monk lost her baby Leo at 37 weeks and suffered a further miscarriage, but she was determined to become a mother and gave birth to Eli last year.
Her heartbreaking battle involved years of fertility treatment and complications with pregnancy on her journey to parenthood.
The 30-year-old has transformed her grief into a positive by raising awareness for premature births and miscarriages and has been shortlisted for a Tommy's Award for her efforts.
Jess was nominated by her friend Michelle after she helped her through losing her baby.
She said: “I honestly cannot think of anyone more deserving of winning an award. She was the first person I found online when my daughter was stillborn and I feel so grateful and honoured that I did.”
Jess has fundraised for a number of baby loss charities and provides comfort and compassion through her blog and Twitter profile.
Since sharing her story with thousands of people, the Arborfield mother has gone on to be shortlisted for The Costa Inspirational Mum Award.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on March 16 in London.
