ENTERPRISING students received an award from Alok Sharma MP to mark their achievements in career strategy.

The Reading West MP visited Little Heath School, along with the CEO of the Careers and Enterprise Company to offer advice and speak with Politics students.

As well as presenting the award alongside Claudia Harris, Mr Sharma spoke about his recent shift to Minister of State for Employment.

He said: “I was delighted to visit Little Heath School and congratulate them on their focussed career strategy for their students.

“Speaking with the Careers and Enterprise Company provided a valuable insight into the work the organisation does to bring together schools and businesses, to motivate young students and instil them with the ambition to succeed.

Reading Chronicle:

“I thoroughly enjoyed meeting with Little Heath’s A Level politics students and hearing about their plans for the future, as well as answering their diverse range of questions on life in Westminster.”

The award was presented to commemorate their work in careers strategy, specifically their focus and their continual improvement in this area.

David Ramsden, head teacher at Little Heath School, added: “We were delighted to welcome Alok Sharma to Little Heath School to inspire young people so that they are prepared for the fast-changing world of work.

“We are proud of our careers work at the school. It is so important for young people to receive outstanding advice and guidance about their future career pathways.

“We were pleased to receive an award for the work that we have been doing in our leading edge partnership with our Enterprise Advisor, Jacky Manning from Berkshire Fire and Rescue.”
