A CYCLIST was rushed to hospital with head injuries after a driver failed to stop at the scene.
Emergency services attended Whitley Wood Lane at the junction with Northumberland Avenue at around 4.30pm on Tuesday (January 16).
A dark-coloured vehicle had collided with a male cyclist. His injuries are not though to be life threatening.
Investigating officer Matt Cadmore, from Three Mile Cross Roads Policing Unit, said: "I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who has any information which could assist our investigation.
"We would like to make contact with the driver of the car involved in the collision as they failed to stop at the scene.
"If you have any information which relates to this investigation please contact police by calling 101, quoting reference number 926 (16/1)."
