SIX neighbours are celebrating an extra special start to the year after winning thousands of pounds through the Postcode Lottery.
Ambassador and singer Danyl Johnson presented the lucky winners of RG30 6DT with cheques worth £25,000.
As well as handing out life-changing sums of money the Postcode Lottery also donated £14,500 last year to Smart Works, a charity which helps hundreds of women get back into work.
Trevor Moore, one of the winners, said: “It is absolutely fantastic and it is going to make so much difference to us. Our life will be a lot easier over the next few years.
“It is amazing, my neighbour has won as well and it will bring such a great feeling to the road.
“People don’t speak as much these days, neighbours don’t know each other like they used to, so it will really bring the community together.”
Mr Moore, 48, also landed the keys to a brand new BMW.
Karen Powell is hoping to use her winnings to visit family in Australia and Roger Hamblin said he had only been playing for a handful of months after seeing adverts for the competition.
