COMMUTERS travelling between Reading and Wokingham found themselves stuck this morning.

Since at least 6am there has been no service between the two towns due to an electrical supply problem combined with a signal failure at Wokingham.

Those still looking to make the trip have been forced onto replacement busses on a chilly Tuesday morning.

Service should resume as normal at 12pm.

On Friday evening those travelling from Reading to London Paddington found themselves similarly marooned when one of Great Western Railway's new trains broke down in the station.

After half an hour's wait with no communication over the tannoy passengers were moved to another, already busy train.

It is not the first time the updated fleet has faced problems.

Several electrical problems were experienced on its maiden voyage, with passengers forced to stand, despite claims that capacity on the new trains was increased by 20 per cent.
