A YOUNG boy was rushed to hospital with ankle injuries after he was involved in a collision on Monday.
Emergency services were called to Burghfield Road at around 8.15am following reports of a traffic collision near Underwood Road.
The 12-year-old boy suffered an injury to his ankle and he was taken to Royal Berkshire Hospital for further treatment.
South Central Ambulance sent an ambulance and a paramedic team leader to deal with the incident.
A spokesman said: "We were called at 8.14am, with the caller reporting a collision between a car and a 12-year-old child on Burghfield Road.
"We sent an ambulance and a paramedic team leader in a rapid response vehicle.
"The child was conscious and breathing on our arrival and had sustained an ankle injury."
The road was partially blocked while paramedics attended, resulting in heavy delays.
