A MOUND of waste which has not been collected for 'months' has caused frustration among residents who say the site has become a health hazard.
Allotment users on Henley Road have made several complaints to Reading Borough Council for failing to remove the garden waste.
One resident, who did not want to be named, said: "The general waste collection is now a health hazard. It has not been collected for months and is inching towards the main gate and is becoming a fly tipping site."
The council responded by saying the waste was due to be collected in the coming days.
A spokesman said: “There are areas in all of the allotments where allotment holders can put waste. These areas are cleared at regular intervals.
“We appreciate the Henley Road site does need clearing and the next clearance will take place over the next few days.
“We would additionally ask all allotment holders to ensure access gates are closed are they have finished visiting their sites, to prevent additional dumping of waste by non-allotment tenants.”
