BRITISH 400m record holder Iwan Thomas will return to start this year's race.
Thousands of runners will be on tenterhooks with their toes on the starting line as he sets them on their way.
As if that wasn't enough the Olympic gold medalist will also be running the race along with everyone else.
"I’m extremely excited to be back this year to not only race, but also to start the Vitality Reading Half Marathon," he said.
"It’s fast, has a great atmosphere and is a fantastic training run for those preparing for the London Marathon.
"For me personally, it’s also great prep for the Heads Together challenge I’m undertaking this year.
"Last year, the streets of Reading were filled with cheering supporters motivating the runners all the way round and the noise that erupted from the stands at the Madjeski Stadium finish was something I look forward to re-living.
"I was really happy with my time last year, but I’m coming back to chase a new personal best."
