A GANG of thugs who sprayed homophobic and racist remarks in a graffiti-based rampage were being hunted by police today.
Villagers in Sonning Common were in shock when they saw the vile remarks covering fencing, road signs, pavements and roads.
It was believed a group of offenders walked from Birdwood Court to Reades Lane while defacing a number of objeccts at Ashford Avenue, Peppard Road, Naish Way, Essex Way and Kennylands road.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: "The offenders spray painted fencing, road signs, pavements and roads along their route. The writing included offensive, homophobic and racist graffiti.
"Police are appealing for witnesses who saw or heard anything, or who have any information that may help the investigation.
"Anyone with any information about the incident should contact the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101 quoting reference numbers 43170050104 and 43170049258."
