A PERVERT who grabbed a woman through her clothing has been fined.
Nana Owusu, of Overdown Road, Reading, approached a woman in her fifties on August 18.
He touched her inappropriately through her clothes. She pushed him away but the 41 year-old continued to assault her.
Owusu was arrested the following day and despite overwhelming evidence pinning him to the crime, including clear CCTV, he pleaded not guilty at Reading Magistrates Court on December 19.
On Wednesday this week he was sentenced to complete 40 hours of unpaid community work, 18 days of rehabilitation work with the Probation Service and was ordered to pay £1,000 compensation to the victim.
Investigating officer PC Mark Wilson said: "I would like to thank the victim for her bravery in coming forward and going through the ordeal of giving evidence in court which resulted in a conviction for a serious offence.
"Thames Valley Police takes all reports of sexual offences extremely seriously, and victims are provided with support. If anyone wishes to report a sexual offence they can do so by calling 101."
