THE M4 has completely reopened after an lorry overturned between junctions 8 and 9, causing traffic havoc for much of Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning.
Both carriageways were closed after the heavy goods vehicle crashed going westbound at 12.45pm on Wednesday.
Traffic queued as far back as junction 11 Eastbound as police carried out investigations and Highway England worked to fix the central reservation and resurface parts of the carriageway.
The road was became fully functional at 5.45am on Thursday, a full 17 hours after the initial incident.
The driver was airlifted to hospital with a serious head injury.
