A TASTE of Thailand came to Prospect Park last weekend when thousands of guests enjoyed the second ever Thai festival in the town.
Despite rain, thousands of guests enjoyed the spectacle over Saturday and Sunday, August 20, 21.
Sue Mayne, one of the festival organisers, said: “It went very well. It was raining, but the turnout was still very good and everyone enjoyed themselves.
“Without children, who got in for free, we know we had a thousand people on the first day and the second was two thousand.
“If people support us we want to come back next year too.”
Last year the one-day festival proved so popular it had to be given a second day.
“The highlights included the costume show, and the lady boy diva show,” continued Ms Mayne.
“We’ve got different traditional Thai costumes and 12 girls model them.”
The Prospect Park show also boasted a beer garden, prize draw, traditional Thai dancers and a live band.
