A RAPIST who set upon two girls after inviting them into his home has been jailed for more than seven years.

Brian Russell, of Clevedon Drive, Lower Earley, was convicted of sexually attacking the girls after he asked them to join him at his house between August 11 and 12, 2014.

Following a week-long trial last month the 30-year-old was convicted of two counts of rape and one count of sexual activity with a child.

He was sentenced to a total of seven and a half years’ imprisonment at Reading Crown Court on Friday.

Jurors agreed unanimously on one rape charge and the sexual activity with a child and reached a majority verdict on the further count of rape.
