A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after attacking another man in London Street earlier this morning.

The 27-year-old remains in custody being quizzed by detectives while his victim is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

He punched and kicked the man repeatedly but police say residents can rest assured it was an isolated incident and there is no further danger to the wider public.

Investigating officer, Det Sgt Carl Bradford of Force CID based at Reading police station, said: "I would like to reassure the community that we believe this is an isolated incident and that the victim and the offender are known to each other.
