POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man attempted to break into a Reading home in broad daylight on Tuesday.
A man, described as having an Irish accent, entered the garden of a home in St Peter's Road and tried to break in at around 1.25pm on Tuesday (January 19).
He was disturbed by someone living at the house and left.
The intruder is described as 5ft 9ins tall with a rugged complexion. He was clean shaven with dark hair and was wearing a woolly hat, a sleeveless jacket, a dark grey sleeved jumper and jogging trousers.
He had a green mountain bike with him.
Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the man in the area.
Investigating Officer, Det Con Ali Bagshaw from Local CID at Reading police station, said: “I would ask anyone who may have seen this man in the area on Tuesday lunchtime or noticed anything suspicious to contact police.”
