Pangbourne Rotary Club held an art exhibition and sale in Streatley over the Bank Holiday weekend selling just under 50 paintings done by local artists and raising £2,000 for Thames Valley Air Ambulance, Footsteps and other Rotary Charities, which include Shelter Box, which is actively supporting Syrian refugees in Greece.
Organiser Clive Williams of the exhibition in the Morrell Room, Church Lane, Streatley: "The weather was actually quite kind to us as the rain on Monday made indoor attractions more attractive and we had a very busy day".
Jane Langford, Club President, said she was very pleased with the exhibition and sale which reflected the record number of works being exhibited. They raised funds through being given a percentage of the sales from the artists as well as the best work was auctioned off. A cheque to Kate Martin, Community and Corporate Fundraising Manager at Thames Valley Air Ambulance.
