POLICE are appealing for information after a middle-aged man was viciously attacked in Oxford Road in the early hours of this morning (Sunday).
The victim, a 54-year-old man, was hit over the back of the head with a bottle after being approached by a man close to the Oxford Road junction with Beecham Road at 5am this morning.
The victim sustained a head injury and was taken to Royal Berkshire Hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.
The offender is a black man but there is no further description available at this stage.
Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the incident.
