FIREFIGHTERS had to tear the roof off a car to rescue a trapped elderly couple this afternoon.
An elderly couple had become trapped in a ditch at around 2.00pm this afternoon on the M4 along junctions 10, 9 and 8.
Firefighters from Wokingham Road, Bracknell and Wokingham attended the scene, where they had to tear off the roof of the car in order to free the passengers.
A south central ambulance spokesperson said confirmed that both the vehicle's occupants were taken to Wrexham Park Hospital, in Slough.
They said: "One male and one female were taken by land ambulance to hospital. Fortunately they're injuries are not life threatening."
An air ambulance was also called to the scene.
