SPANDAU BALLET have been announced as the headline band for this year's Henley Festival.

The band, who have had 10 UK top 10 singles including Through the Barricades, Gold and the legendary number one single True will close the five-day festival on Sunday, July 12 on the Floating Stage.

Spandau Ballet are one of the most successful groups to emerge from the New Romantic era and are sure to give those attending the festival, in partnership with BMW, a foot-stomping performance this summer.

The band said: “Summer by the Thames at Henley sounds like an offer not to be refused.

“We can't wait to see everyone there and raise money for such a good cause.”

Other acts books for the event starting Wednesday, July 8 are Jessie J, Lionel Richie and the Gypsy Kings.

Tickets are on sale from 2pm today and priced at £35.
