A PREGNANT woman is in a life-threatening condition after being thrown from her car in a serious collision in Tilehurst yesterday.
The woman's car collided with another vehicle at 2.30pm with crews from Dee Road station, Thames Valley Police and South Central Ambulance Service all being called to the scene on Magpie Way.
The other driver suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash which was originally reported to Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, who were on the scene for 40 minutes, as a vehicle on fire by a member of the public.
Fire fighters administered first aid to both drivers while waiting for paramedics.
A South Central Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called to the scene at 2.35pm to reports of a road traffic collision on Magpie Way, which is close to Starlings Drive.
“We sent two ambulance crews to the scene and found one female in a life-threatening condition and the other driver with minor injuries.”
Both drivers were taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
