NOMINATIONS have poured in for the Reading Retail Awards and now the shortlist can be revealed.
In this week's Reading Chronicle is the list of companies and retailers who have been selected to go through to the final of the competition.
Judges will now sift through the shortlists and decide on the winners who will be announced at the glitzy black-tie awards dinner on September 13.
Steph Maynard from theeventcrew.co.uk which has organised the awards with Broad Street Mall and The Oracle shopping centres said: “The 2014 awards has seen just short of 3,000 entries across both the customer and business categories.
“We are absolutely delighted with the level of entries and indeed the quality of entries we have received.
“This year has generated some outstanding nominations and has certainly given the judges a lot to discuss and deliberate over!”
Among those successfully through to the next round include the retailers mentioned in the Independent Retailer of the Year category, sponsored by John Lewis.
The award is handed to an independent retailer who, in the judges’ opinion, demonstrates an individual, innovative and exemplary customer service experience.
These businesses are usually greatly loved and supported by local shoppers.
There are still tickets available for the gala dinner at The Hilton Hotel in Reading featuring Bobby Davro as the after-dinner entertainment.
