SHEFFIELD'S finest, Arctic Monkeys, have been booked to headline the main stage at Reading Festival this summer, following their blistering performance in 2009.
The indie-rock lads have occupied a special place in many-a music fan's heart ever since they exploded onto the scene with hit single I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor back in 2005, and their 2013 album, AM, garnered more plaudits, including being voted NME's album of the year.
They are joined by other new bookings The Courteeners; The 1975 - who drew huge crowds in 2013; Surrey rockers You Me At Six; SBTRKT; LA indie band Warpaint; Netsky; legendary Radio One DJ Annie Mac; Royal Blood; Hozier; Architects; Issues; Pusha T and Krept & Konan.
Blink 182 take up one of the two other main stage headline spots - with the third headliner to be revealed later in the year.
Reading Festival takes place at Little John's Farm from Friday-Sunday, August 22-24. Tickets are on sale now, with weekend tickets priced at £202.50 plus £15 for Thursday early entry. Book by calling 0871 231 0821 or online at www.festivalrepublic.com or www.readingfestival.com
