Alternative Stage

RUSSELL Kane first burst on to our radio at the launch of channel Five Live and has gone on to work all over the world with stints on radio, TV and even Big Brother’s Big Mouth.

Now Russell has made it to the Alternative Stage at Reading Festival as one of the top names in comedy after the music on the main stages has stopped for the night.

Joining Russell will be comedians, including Emo Philips, Jason Byrne, Stephen K Amos, Kevin Bridges and Rufus Hound.

With a line up like this there will be no chance of a dull moment, even after the music is long over.

The Alternative Stage is not just about the laughs, as

there are some amazing artists

appearing. Human beatbox supremo Beardyman, the former UK beatbox champion, will be performing.

Indie superstar Eddie Argos will be playing a stripped down acoustic set which is not to be missed.

Poet, illustrator, novelist, spoken word artist and pal of Kate Nash, Laura Dockrill, 23, will be reciting some of her poems about modern life.

For those who fancy the chance to express their opinion Instigate Debate will take place with a diverse panel of guests to bring the passion and forthright debate.

To finish it all, DJs Smash N Grab, Swap-A-Rama, Rebel Bingo, DJ Goldierocks and Transgressive Records will all host nights for rockers and ravers to dance until the early hours.
