David Nicholls, Emma Bridgewater, Dawn O'Porter, Tony Parsons and Adele Parks are just some of the names making up the line-up of the festival, now in its eighth year, which comes to a variety of venues across the town from September 29 to October 5.
Baroness Doreen Lawrence will join Bafta-winning Captain Philips director Paul Greengrass in conversation, to discuss her journey to being named BBC Radio 4's Woman of 2014 after her campaign following the death of her son, Stephen.
One Day author David Nicholls will visit the town in the week that his new novel, Us, is released, while founder of the Everyday Sexism project, Laura Bates, will join Melissa Benn and Monisha Rajesh for a topical conversation about the 'fourth wave of feminism'.
The festival has humour covered with appearances from Francesca Martinez and Katy Wix; Oz Clarke and Thane Prince tackle food and drink, history events will look at Thomas Cromwell and Marie Antoinette and Archers star Eleanor Bron is back with a new play.
There is also a busy programme for children with events including Roald Dahl storytelling and a celebration of 50 years of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
