AN art gallery showcasing an ever-changing mix of work has signed up to a popular annual fair.

Emerald Framing and Gallery will be at the Reading Contemporary Art Fair next month, joining 90 artists from across Berkshire over the weekend of April 26 and 27.

Run by Cath Friend, a qualified Guild Commended framer, the Chalfont St Peter-based business is promising a “treasure trove” of art work for visitors.

Ms Friend said: “In addition to our picture framing service, our on-site gallery is proud to exhibit a variety of work, including contemporary art, paintings and sculpture from professional artists from Buckinghamshire and the surrounding counties.

“A must-see treasure trove, the extensive collection of art includes paintings and prints, as well as a variety of contemporary applied art.”

The fair, at Rivermead Leisure Centre, is one of the country’s most influential events and will feature paintings, prints, drawings, sculpture, ceramics and photography.

Entrepreneur Sir John Madejski will officially open the show at a private viewing on Friday, April 25, while Jelly will run creative workshops over the weekend offering visitors the chance to learn all sorts of skills, including dry point etching, collages, and drawing with ink.

The fair runs from 10am-6pm on Saturday and 10am-5pm on Sunday. Weekend adult tickets are £5.25 and concessions are £4.25. Visit www.readingcontemporaryartfair.co.uk
