Ra Ra The Royals!

Reading is BACK!! HOORAY!! Ra Ra for the Royals!

Reading's glorious promotion to the Premiership may well be big news back home, but I have to tell you, it's barely a blip on the media radar here in the States. Championship football, whoops - sorry, I mean 'soccer' (haha) gets barely a mention in the US media. However, now Reading have joined the big time, that could be about to change because the Premiership is really big news in the States.

There are now more Premiership league games (EPL as they call it here - English Premier League) shown live on American television than there are even in Britain! Now, that could mean that Mikele Leigertwood could become the next Matt Damon and Adam Le Fondre the next Brad Pitt! They are getting a HUGE media profile and the name of Reading is about to be on the American map!

Personally not only am I a big Reading supporter, but I'm also a Spurs supporter so the Reading v Spurs game is going to be the one worth waiting for. I'm hoping for a draw of course!

Here in Los Angeles the big 'soccer' draw is David Beckham's LA Galaxy. The Galaxy will be playing Spurs in a friendly this July. Always quite the spectacle and not just when David is playing. Can't wait for that...

But, if Reading have the impact I expect in the Premiership then maybe, just maybe, the Royals will be invited over to be Galaxy's summer opponents next year. It could happen! You heard it here first!
