WAY back in the 1930s all theatre-goers were familiar with the name Ben Travers, the author of a series of very funny plays known as the Aldwych Farces.
Many years later, when he was approaching 90 years of age, Travers again took up his pen to show he had not lost his touch and that he was fully aware of life in the swinging sixties. The result was this exceedingly funny play.
A brilliant cast, directed by Julian Woolford, does full justice to this tale of a middle-aged lady"s belated awakening to the joys of sex and her resolve to make up for lost time.
Susan Penhaligon gave a superb performance in the leading role, well supported by the rest of the cast, notably Brian Deacon as her husband and Rosemary Ashe as her informative friend. Stacey Cadman was charming as a fresh-faced but experienced youngster whilst the versatile and experienced Jess Conrad gave a delightful portrayal as an actor-star accustomed to conquer wherever he goes.
This is a performance not to be missed and runs until Saturday 11 July.
