The students of The Rep College devised this production themselves, tailoring it for the six performers in the cast, some of whom doubled up on their roles.

Broadly following the traditional storyline all the main characters were there with Gemma Furby appearing as Aladdin, Eleanor Rush as Widow Twankey and Alison Taduran as the Princess. Jacob Chandaka and George Rosbottom, doubled as a comedy duo when the action took place in Peking and also as the two genies and were joined by Dominic Cannon as Abanazar.

This was essentially a small-scale show with no big sets or extravagant costumes and little singing and dancing meaning the cast had to work very hard to engage the very sparse audience at the production I attended.
