A wonder by the 'River'

Situated on the corner of The Riverside, overlooking the bridge, is the sister restaurant to LSQ2 in Green park, a well established restaurant that has been delivering innovative food.
The minimalist decor and spacious open-planned interior reflect the relaxed yet professional feel of the restaurant. Even the cutlery and condiments are futuristic and fuss-free.
The staff are attentive and well presented, and provide the diners with good knowledge of the modern and inventive menu. The service is quick and efficient.
LSQ2 is a chic brasserie with a funky vibe and equally funky food. The menu is filled with contemporary and original ideas from monkfish served in a Yorkshire pudding to lamb two ways. All the dishes are well thought out by experienced chefs who clearly know their flavour combinations.
I opted for the sashimi grade tuna with sautéed spinach and horensau sauce, which was all beautifully presented inside the contemporary crockery.
For the main course I selected seafood curry - a rich coconut cream Thai red curry with a selection of fish including succulent scallops, served with fragrant coconut rice, and a fresh coriander and chilli garnish.
For dessert it had to be the toffee pudding - with a rich treacle flavour, sticky date texture and devilishly sweet sauce it was the perfect ending to the meal. LSQ2 sees a wide range of diners from formal business lunches, and romantic dinners for two, to a casual bite to eat before or after a trip to the nearby cinema. Due to the spacious surroundings and open-planned style of the restaurant, its speciality would definitely be large parties which they cater for frequently.
LSQ2 have made excellent provisions for allergy sufferers and provide a key next to every dish as to whether it is gluten free, dairy free, nut free or suitable for vegetarians. There is even a special menu specifically for coeliac sufferers available on request.
As well as the contemporary a la Carte menu, LSQ2 also boast a two course lunch and early evening offer for a very respectable £9.95, and a Sunday Roast Special for £9.95, which I am told is always a winner.
