NME/Radio One Stage, Reading Festival today (Saturday)

PARTY starters 3OH!3 have gone from strength to strength over the past year with a string of hits under their brightly-coloured belts and now the gruesome twosome are back in the UK for their tour and to play Reading Festival of course.

3OH!3, made up of Nathaniel ‘Nat’ Motte and Sean Foreman, both from Boulder, Colorado, were recently in the UK performing at T In The Park and Oxegen festivals, as well as a rapturously received sold out show at London’s Kings College, and now the band are back on these shores to play the NME/Radio One Stage at Reading Festival on Saturday.

Nat said: “We got here on Tuesday last week from Australia, a nice 32 hour trip.

"Tomorrow we’re taking off to go to festivals in Belguim and then Holland and then on to Reading.

"We actually played last year and it was one of the most amazing shows we have ever played. It was our first festival we’d done in the UK. It’s an amazing festival. It was really eye opening and an amazing reception.

"It’s the show I’ve been looking forward to all year. We’re on a bigger stage and a better time slot.”

3OH!3 will perform their top 10 track, Starstrukk, which featured Katy Perry, their winning collaborations with Ke$ha, Blah Blah Blah, and the current chart smash, My First Kiss.

Nat added: “We’re incorporating a bigger thing. For those who were there last year I think it’s going to be the same. It will be a fun, kind of party atmosphere, playing some new songs and some from the radio and maybe some old ones. Keeping it very much a party thing.”

But not ones to miss out on the party atmosphere, the duo are planning to soak in as much of the festival as possible.

Nat said: “We’re staying in Reading on Saturday night to watch bands on Sunday and hang out.

“I’m looking forward to seeing Marina And The Diamonds, I really like her stuff. I’ve seen Arcade Fire before at a big festival but I’m excited to see their set.”

The band are starting their UK tour next month, which will take them round the country, kicking off on Saturday, September 25, in Bristol and includes a date at London’s Koko on Wednesday, September 29.

The duo are making the most of their time and are also set to release a new single, Double Vision, on Monday, September 27.

For now they are raring to rock the festival stage and Nat added: “We’re so excited to get out there, have a party, have fun, and play some great music!”
