IDLEWILD will stop in Reading on their forthcoming UK tour.

The tour, off the back of their seventh album Post-Electric Blues, will stop at Sub89, Friar Street, on Monday, March 8.

Of the album singer Roddy Woomble said: "The album opener 'Younger than America' was the first track we wrote for the album.

"The idea for the lyrics came from a spatewatching Westerns - simple stories of justice and courage set at the 'frontier'. It sounds the way it does because we're all big fans of Neil Young & Crazy Horse.

"After we'd written the song I though the record might turn into an American sounding piece of classic rock, but it didn't turn out that way really, especially after writing 'Readers and Writers'. The record went in whatever direction it chose to."

The Sunday Times mag Culture has called them 'genuinely brilliant', and 'This year's band most deserving of 'doing an Elbow'', which all points to this being a collector's item among gigs.
