WHITLEY Tavern took advantage of a host of postponements in the Sunday Senior Division as they beat Ibis/Misfits 5-2 to go second in the table.
While the match was the only game to go ahead due to the cold snap, Whitley came out firing and raced into a 5-0 lead before half-time.
Philip Fisher and Paul Anderson both struck braces while Barry Elmore netted a superb 30-yard free-kick to help Whitley bounce back in style from their 7-0 loss in the cup last weekend.
Ibis managed to pull a couple of goals back in the second half and their goalkeeper made a fantastic double save to keep out a James Weston penalty.
