THE worst weather of the winter so far meant that only seven games in the Reading & District Sunday League went ahead last weekend.

Loddon Valley Rangers advanced to round three of the Industrial Cup with a 4-3 extra-time win over FC Ole.

Ahmet Tuney put Ole one-up midway through the first half, but a Billy Gordon penalty got Rangers back on level terms soon after.

Fabian Coultress quickly re-established Ole's lead, but a Jack Murphy double ensured Rangers went into the break 3-2 to the good.

Both teams had plenty of chances in a thrilling second period, with the midfield pair of Rangers' Kieron Titus and Ole's Mark Sumner in superb form, before Tuney swooped with two minutes to play to send the game into extra-time.

It looked as though the clash would be decided by penalties, before Rangers grabbed a deserved victory five minutes from the end as Luke Giles headed home Riccardo Riccio's corner to send his side through in dramatic fashion.

In the John Lusted Cup, goals from Ken Clarke (2), Del Tobin and Dave Sharp gave Crown Inn (Theale) a 4-2 win at Charvil Rangers.
