The 21-year-old former amateur from Reading will step through the ropes for his second competitive outing in the UK’s premier boxing league on Saturday, February 7, when he meets teak-tough contender Amir Saghalati from Bournemouth.

And after impressing the show’s promoters on his debut at the end of 2014, Clarke will be looking to produce another solid performance.

His winning debut against Tommy Marcon on the undercard of the Queensbury Boxing League’s end of season finale in November impressed the shows promoters so much that his debut win will be shown on British Eurosport later this month.

His performance has already got the show’s fans talking about a potential title shot later in the year.

Talking ahead of Clarke’s battle with Saghalati, Johnson said: “I can see O’Shane Clarke smashing his way through the rankings this year and it won’t be long before he’s picking up titles.

“I’ve been around boxing for a long time and this kid has got it all.

“He’s a skillful fighter with a really good boxing brain. He knows how to use angles and he’s got that inner strength that you just can’t teach, so I’m very excited to see how he progresses over the next 12 months.”

Also in action on the same night is Johnson’s rising Reading-based middleweight, Faraz Akram, who will look to continue his incredible run on the show by notching up his fifth straight knockout victory since joining the competition.

Akram was at his devastating best back in November producing the competitions biggest KO of the season when he brutally despatched Manchester’s Rhys Yates in the second round.

But the 19-year-old will face the toughest assignment of his career this time out when he meets Coventry’s Marc Dwyer over four rounds.

Both Clarke and Akram will be in action at the Millennium Copthorne Effingham Park Hotel in West Sussex.
