LAST weekend was a very quiet time on the RDAA venues, writes Alan Hughes.

Tring Anglers fished their match on the Sonning River section of the River Thames.

They found the fishing very hard and the top spot was tied between Peter Smith and Martin Rodwell who each had a roach of 8ozs each.

Richard Darbon claimed third place with a single roach of 1oz.

Away from the RDAA venues, Reading Fishing Club were at the village end of the River Thames at Goring and it was Joe Baker who won the club’s Joe Wise cup as he weighed in 2lbs 9ozs.

George Callaghan took the runner-up spot with 1lb 3ozs and Dave Bosher and Tony Scott shared third place as they both banked 1oz each.

Excelsior fished their match on their stretch of the Thames at Hardwick.

Tony Gee took the honours with one chub which took the scales down to 3lbs.

Nicky Baker claimed the runner-up spot with 1lb 11ozs of silver fish and Kenny Stratton completed the top trio with 1lb 5ozs of the same.

This coming weekend sees the last RDAA match of the season and this will be in the form of teams of four.

This will be on the Kennet & Avon Canal at Froxfield and a team can be entered by contacting Mike Sheasby on 0780 241 4317.
