CURZON Club A took another big step towards clinching the Reading & District League Division Two title after beating third-placed Tilehurst Methodists A 7-3, John Willcocks starring with a treble while Cath Venning won twice for Tilehurst.

Sonning Common & Peppard B managed a 10-0 win over Our Lady of Peace B thanks to hard-fought trebles from Nigel Maltby, Brian Meheux and Andy Robertson.

Lee Calcutt’s treble proved in vain as Tidmarsh C lost their inter-club match against Tidmarsh B 7-3, Barry Carter, Jon Golding and Dom Cutter all winning twice for the B team.

At the bottom, Kingfisher F won 8-2 against fellow strugglers Pangbourne WMC, Grant Wheatley and Allan Bruton with hat-tricks.

In Division Three, Ludovic Coulliard managed a fine treble as Springfield A won a close match with Kingfisher J 6-4, David Wells securing a double for the beaten side.

Kingfisher G were 7-3 derby winners against Kingfisher H, Eric Holmes and Luca Bianci with maximums.

Reading FC A went to Tilehurst Methodists C in Division Four and came away with a 10-0 victory, Jazz Dhillon, Richard Witt and Anthony Alleyne doing the damage with maximums.

Saiyan Brothers made it business as usual by winning 9-1 at Tidmarsh D to maintain their lead at the top. Dave Edwards prevented the whitewash.

At the bottom, Kingfisher K gained two vital points by beating Sonning Common & Peppard F 6–4 thanks mainly to a Lee Wirkhani hat-trick.

In Division Five, a strong Our Lady of Peace F side inflicted a first defeat of the season on their fellow joint leaders, Sonning Sports B, winning 7-3 in a closely-fought match thanks to a maximum from Jan Polnik.

Our Lady of Peace now take over top spot on their own. Polnik was ably supported by a double from Graham Stark and a single from Chris Bunn, with opponents Cris Reynolds, Sally James and John Scott all recording one win each.

In another tough encounter, Tidmarsh E suffered a 6-4 defeat at the hands of Milestone C, with singles for Pete Sinclair, John Harland and Steve Andrews, while Carl Edlind, John Evans and Maksym Schipka all recorded doubles for Milestone.

Springfield C beat Kingfisher L 8-2 in another match closer than the score would indicate. Rob Atack recording a maximum while Chris Speight and Alan Goold both recorded doubles, Dmitry Merzlyakov and Meriel Low replying with one win each.
