LAST weekend saw only four RDAA Club matches on the venues with one on the River Kennet, two on the Kennet & Avon Canal and one on the Thames.

Starting with the Kennet, Bracknell Avocets had six anglers competing, but not one of them had a bite. This has been the case recently with this venue.

Courage/SE fished on the B section on the canal at Froxfield. Fred Jones took the honours with 1lb 14ozs of silver fish, and was closely followed by Andy White who took 1lb 12ozs of similar species to the scales.

The other club on the canal were Reading Fishing Club who fished the Midgham stretch.

The winner was Pete Budaji who weighed in 4lbs 10ozs of silvers. James Thumwood took the runner-up spot with 1lb 7ozs and completing the trio was Andy Woolsey with 1lb. Both anglers caught small silvers.

A special mention was for the fourth-placed angler Bill Tucker who celebrated his 90th birthday on the bank.

The best result of the day came from the Wallingford B venue on the Thames.

The resident chub made an appearance for the first time this year and the lucky anglers of Tilehurst Royal British Legion who drew the top pegs made use of it.

Tony Tibble netted seven chub to weigh in 19lbs 1oz and take the top spot. Liam Page Smith claimed the second place with three chub and one decent perch which weighed in at 14lbs 10ozs.

Completing the top trio was Chris Humphreys with two chub for 5lbs 11ozs.
