KINGFISHER A remain on course to retain their Reading & District League Division One title with Martin Adams and Danny Moses leading their charge.

Kingfisher B are pushing them hard in second place, while Our Lady of Peace A have lost two matches so far from their five played, and with a shortage of available players it seems unlikely they will be challenging for the title this year.

Kingfisher D and Kingfisher E occupy the bottom two positions and have a lot to do if they are to catch Tidmarsh A and Sonning Common & Peppard A, however it is unlikely any teams will be relegated ahead of next season with only eight teams in the top flight this term.

Sonning Common & Peppard B went three points clear in second place in the Division Two table after a 7-3 win in their re-arranged match at Kingfisher F.

Brian Meheux and Nigel Maltby both got maximums, the latter winning a hard-fought contest against Grant Wheatley 6-11 11-9 12-10 6-11 11-9 for his treble, while Kingfisher's Rick Leachman managed a fine 11-7 11-4 12-10 win over Jeremy Willis.

Curzon Club A lead the way, carrying a four-point lead into the second half of the season. Tilehurst Methodists A and Sonning Common & Peppard D are both still in with a chance of a top-two finish.

At the bottom, Pangbourne WMC A have most to do to avoid the drop, while just two points separate Tidmarsh C and Kingfisher F in the battle to avoid the second relegation spot. Our Lady of Peace B are placed just above the drop zone.

Springfield A stayed clear in second place in Division Three after winning 9-1 against Tilehurst Methodists B, Phil Burke and Ludovic Coulliard with trebles after Jes Eassom had won the opening set against Adam Sheen 11-4 11-8 11-4.

Sonning Sports A got back to their best form with an 8-2 victory against Sonning Common & Peppard E, Paul Savage with a maximum after beating Mark Jones in his opener 12-10 9-11 21-19 11-5. Milestone B are unbeaten so far as they look for a second successive promotion with a five-point cushion to third-placed Sonning Sports A.

Guy de la Villesbrunne got a hat-trick as Kingfisher G won 7-3 against Our Lady of Peace C. It is extremely tight at the bottom with four teams on seven points, Our Lady of Peace C, Tilehurst Methodists B, Kingfisher J and Milestone A. Just below this quartet are Kingfisher I, although even they will still carry hopes of avoiding the drop.

In Division Four, new team Siayan Brothers have a perfect record with 10 wins out of 10 and look certain to clinch promotion and the title.

Our Lady of Peace D took a firm grip of second place after a recent victory against Reading FC A.

Sonning Common & Peppard F look destined for the drop having yet to record a single point, however the other relegation place is extremely difficult to call with just a single point separating Kingfisher K, Tidmarsh D, Tilehurst Methodists C and Springfield B.

Even Our Lady of Peace E on 11 points cannot yet count themselves as safe.

Both Our Lady of Peace F and Sonning Sports B head the way in Division Five with Sonning Common & Peppard G three points adrift of the two promotion places.

The rest are all closely bunched in mid-table with Tilehurst Methodists D and Kingfisher L adrift at the foot and battling to avoid bottom spot.
