BERKSHIRE Ladies suffered a disappointing start to their John’s Trophy campaign as they were crushed 141-103 (22-4) by Kent.
The Royal county had two winning Rinks. Jane Porter was joined by Bett Aubrey, Sue Goodchild and Barbara Smith to finish plus nine shots (25-16), and the rink skipped by Morgan Merryweather (pictured above) with Sophie Coston, Lauren Coles and Emma Cooper finished plus three shots (19-16).
Berkshire beat Bedfordshire 110-102 in a friendly. The top rink was skipped by Sandra Harrison, with Carole Dover, Shirley Dutton and Sandra Thompson. They were plus 13 shots.
However, they lost 109-92 to Surrey despite the best efforts of skip Jo Sanders who, with Janet Allen, Julie Howe and Julie Merry, were plus 18 shots.
- THREE Mile Cross lost 76-62 (11-3 on points) to top-of-the-table Maidenhead Thicket in their Kennet League Division Two East encounter.
In the Kennet League LV Division One Central, Three Mile Cross A were beaten 67-39 (10-0), while the B team were thrashed 89-29 (10-0) in Central Two.
In the ladies’ Thames Valley League, Three Mile Cross lost to Sunningdale 8-2 on points.
However, the club did record friendly wins in mixed games against Tilehurst (103-78) and Maidenhead Thicket (97-79), though they lost 78-76 to Yateley.
In a ladies’ friendly, Three Mile Cross overcame Farley Hill 48-32.
