KINGFISHER A went top of Division One of the Reading & District League after they defeated YMCA 7-3 with Richard Rosinski winning a marathon contest against Neil Hurford.

Kingfisher B kept up their hopes with a 10-0 win at Sonning Common & Peppard B after also winning 8-2 at Our Lady of Peace B, Dmitry Khakhamov and Hari Gehlot with trebles.

Csaba Pall and Pete Matthews both got hat-tricks as Tidmarsh A gained an impressive 9-1 win over Sonning Common & Peppard A.

Kingfisher F took another huge step towards promotion from Division Two after beating close rivals Curzon Club A 8-2, Ivor Hardman leading the way with a maximum. Malcolm Gregory’s three-straight treble helped Sonning Common & Peppard E beat their D team club mates 8-2, while Tidmarsh B were held to a 5-5 draw by Tilehurst Methodists A.

David Joyce, Melvyn Lovegrove and Steve Ng clinched promotion to the top division next season as Kingfisher G beat relegated club mates Kingfisher E 6-4, Grant Wheatley earning a fine treble for the losers.

Danny Dockree’s treble helped Sonning Common & Peppard C beat Pangbourne WMC A 6-4.

Pangbourne WMC B remain at the top of the Division Three table with a narrow 6-4 win over Kingfisher H, thanks to a good maximum from Clive Taylor.

Tidmarsh C kept up their push for promotion with a comfortable 8-2 win at Tilehurst Methodists B as Lee Calcutt and Simon Barter both hits maximums, while Springfield A drew 5-5 at Milestone A.

Our Lady of Peace D beat Kingfisher I 10-0, and Kingfisher J overcame an understrength Sonning Sports B 7-3.

Milestone B were crowned Division Four champions following a 5-5 draw with Kingfisher K, Zoltan Keleman bagging a hat-trick.

Curzon Club B defeated Tilehurst Methodists E 6-4 with Geoff Johnson winning three, but Curzon Club C remain in trouble following an 8-2 defeat to Our Lady of Peace E for whom Binit Bhaskar won all three.

Reading FC A just got the better of Tidmarsh D 6-4.

Our Lady of Peace F – inspired by a Laurence de Ste Croix treble – won Division Five thanks to a 6-4 win against second-placed Sonning Common & Peppard H.

Reading FC B continued their push for the runners-up spot by winning 8-2 away at the BBC Club, with both Joe Bull and Paul Brown recording maximums.

Kingfisher L were victorious in their encounter with Springfield D, edging the match 6-4, thanks to a maximum from Ken Robb and a double from Clive Gold, Stephen Leggett becoming only the third person to beat Gold.

Milestone C remain rooted to the bottom of the table, following their 8-2 defeat by Springfield C, for whom Rob Atack and Chris Speight both scored maximums.

However, Milestone’s Igor Grbic recorded his first win, an 11-9 6-11 9-11 13-11 14-12 victory over James Regan, who also lost to Tony Hayden.

Sally James recorded her third maximum, as Sonning Sports B beat Sonning Common & Peppard G 7-3, Cris Reynolds also recording two wins and Mike Gautrey chipping in with one win, which guaranteed both points, while, in reply, Mikey Legg won two and Marko Madzar won one.
