FOURTEEN teams of four, making a total of 56 anglers, were booked in for the fourth and final RDAA senior match to be held on the Kennet and Avon Canal at Froxfield this season.

Total match weight on the day was 171lbs 10ozs (at an average weight of 3lbs 1oz per angler) and Pangbourne & Whitchurch Slapheads team took the top honour with 48 points.

The team consisted of Steve Drakeford, Tony Franklin, Paul Leek and Martin Hutchins.

The runner-up spot was taken by Reading Fishing Club Boshers Boys with 45 points, the team made up of Dave Bosher, Terry Littlewood, Tony Holdsworth and Gordon Moss.

Completing the top trio was Tilehurst Royal British Legion Muppets with 41 points.

The individual match was won by Littlewood. Fishing two pegs above Lock 71 on Froxfield C section, he banked perch to 2lbs and skimmer bream to 12ozs. Overall, fishing pole tactics, feeding groundbait and chopped worm and caster with worm and double pinkie on the hook he recorded a weight of 12lbs.

Liam Page-Smith of TRBLAS Muppets was second overall. Fishing the first peg below Lock 69 on Froxfield A section, he banked skimmer bream to 2lbs and perch in a total of 11lbs 10ozs.

Darren Rodgers of TRBLAS Swingers was third overall. Fishing two pegs below the Ash Tree on Froxfield C section.

Rodgers banked a bream of 3lbs 8ozs along with skimmer bream during the course of the match, totalling 8lbs 2ozs.

Fourth spot went to Andy Chapman with 7lbs 5ozs and Martin Hutchins claimed fifth place with 6lbs 6ozs.

The A section (wides to top of short pound) totalled 44lbs 3ozs and B section (lock 70 to 1st Ash tree) returned 33lbs 6ozs.

C section (below 1st Ash tree to Lock 71) totalled 60lbs 11ozs, and D section (Lock 71 to end of venue) amassed 33lbs 6ozs.

Dave Brent triumphed with 20lbs 3ozs of carp when the RDAA Tuesday Club fished Whitehouse Lake at Tadley on the Stacey Complex.

Nick Ravenswing claimed the runner-up spot with carp to weigh in 15lbs 6ozs, while third place was taken by Dave Bosher with two bream and a tench for 11lbs 4ozs.
