VIBRATO Valtat, O’Faolains Boy and Melodic Rendezvous, who have all scored in Grade One company, feature among the entries for Greatwood Charity Raceday at Newbury on Saturday.

The seven-race card includes the £50,000 Grade Three William Hill “High 5” Supporting Greatwood Gold Cup, and Vibrato Valtat (7/1l), a G1 winner over fences in 2014, could aim to provide trainer Paul Nicholls a remarkable ninth success in the two-and-a-half mile handicap chase.

Nicholls has also entered recent San Benedeto (7/1) and More Buck’s (14/1) as he bids for a third consecutive victory in the race following Sound Investment and Sametegal.

Venetia Williams sent out Shangani to victory in 2014 and the handler also has three contenders this year headed by Tango De Juilley (8/1).

The 9/2 favourite is the Dan Skelton-trained Oldgrangewood, who is seeking a hat-trick of victories following a pair of handicap chase wins at Wetherby.

Sir Peter and Lady Gibbings saw their colours carried to victory by Isio in the first running of the Greatwood Gold Cup in 2004 and the owners could be represented once again by the Tom Symonds-trained Hollywoodien (8/1).

O’Faolains Boy (Rebecca Curtis) took the RSA Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in 2014 and the 10-year-old features among 13 entries for the £25,000 Betway Supporting Greatwood Veterans’ Handicap Chase (2.05pm) over three-and-a-quarter miles.

His rivals may include the Paul Nicholls-trained pair of Rocky Creek and Just A Par.

Melodic Rendezvous (Jeremy Scott), whose finest hour came when taking the 2013 G1 Tolworth Hurdle, and Bloody Mary (Nicky Henderson) head 18 entries for the £20,000 William Hill “High 5” Supporting Greatwood Handicap Hurdle (2.40pm) over an extended two miles.
