RDAA hosted their third senior match on the Kennet and Avon Canal at Froxfield this season.

Fifty anglers tool part and total match weight on the day was 121lbs 15ozs, at an average weight of 2lbs 12ozs per angler.

The top three teams on the day were Reading Fishing Club with 32lbs 9ozs, TRBLAS with 32lbs 9ozs and Courage with 16lbs 10ozs.

The match was won by Richard Rosinski of Reading Fishing Club. Fishing three pegs above “Lock 71” on Froxfield C section, he banked four perch to 2lbs 8ozs along with small skimmer bream, roach and dace.

Fishing pole tactics, feeding groundbait with pinkie and chopped worm with caster, with red maggot and worm on the hook to record a weight of 7lbs 5ozs.

Peter Godfrey of Reading Fishing Club was runner-up. Fishing the second peg above the “Ash Tree” on Froxfield B section. he banked two perch to 1lb 8ozs along with small skimmer bream and roach during the course of the match, fishing pole tactics, feeding pinkie, with pinkie on the hook to weigh in 7lbs 3ozs.

Club-mate George Callaghan was third. Fishing the first peg above the “Footbridge” on Froxfield C section, he banked skimmer bream, perch and roach during the course of the match, fishing pole tactics, feeding groundbait with pinkie, and chopped worm with caster, with red maggot, pinkie and worm on the hook to record a weight of 6lbs 2ozs.

In fourth place was Simon Copson of Courage S/E with 6lbs 1oz and fifth was Andy Chapman of TRBLAS with 5lbs 9ozs.

The remaining match – “RDAA Teams of Four” – will be held at Froxfield on Sunday, March 4.

TRBLAS have won the Club Championship with 216lbs 8ozs, Reading Fishing Club follow with 172lbs 2ozs and in third place are Courage/SE with 120lbs 13ozs.

The Individual Aggregate Weight Trophy was won by Liam Page-Smith (TRBLAS) with 33lbs 10ozs and Chapman took second spot with 28lbs 12ozs.

Page-Smith has also won the Points Championship with 44 points and the runner-up was Rosinski with 40 points.

The RDAA Tuesday Club fished at Soke Road Lake on the Stacey complex at Tadley.

Tony Holdsworth continued his good run on the venue with 13 carp weighing 38lbs 4ozs, and John Ambrose finished in second place with nine carp for 32lbs 2ozs. Third spot went to Dave Bosher with eight carp for 30lbs 14ozs.
