READING & District League Division One leaders Kingfisher A beat a two-man Sonning Common & Peppard B side 10-0 while third-placed Kingfisher B were 8-2 derby winners against the club’s C team, with Philip Zeng and Hari Gehlot (pictured) both getting maximums.

Tidmarsh A beat YMCA 8-2, Csaba Pall and Sam Ricks with trebles, while an impressive win by Yonatan Slobodskoy against Cesaba Pall gave Our Lady of Peace B a 5-5 draw with Tidmarsh A.

In Division Two, Kingfisher G went joint top after their 8-2 win at Our Lady of Peace C, Sagar Sawant and Steve Ng both with maximums.

Curzon Club A had an impressive 6-4 win at Pangbourne WMC A with another good all round team performance from trio John Willcocks, Nick Lean and Jon Willis, while Malcolm Gregory starred as Sonning Common & Peppard E won 7-3 at Kingfisher E.

Basement team Tilehurst Methodists C picked up only their second point of the season in Division Three with a 5-5 draw against mid-table Springfield A.

Mike Williams and Martin Wetherell were Tilehurst’s key men in this match – both notching a couple of wins and then combining for victory in the doubles encounter. Adam Sheen and Ludo both had doubles for Springfield.

Our Lady of Peace D were the biggest winners of the week – a comprehensive 9-1 thumping of fellow relegation candidates Sonning Sports A. Alistair Richardson and Dave Godfrey both hit trebles for OLOP, while Wendy Porter chipped in with a couple of wins.

Tilehurst Methodists B could not make it a trio of success for the bottom teams as they succumbed to high-flying Pangbourne WMC B 6-4 when Jes Eassom lost an incredible deciding set 15-13 to Clive Taylor.

Second-placed Milestone edged past Kingfisher J 6-4.

In Division Four, Kingfisher K beat Tilehurst Methodists E 7-3 with David Wells gaining a hat-trick. Milestone B matching that effort at Curzon Club C. Zoltan Kelemen played well to win all three.

A brilliant maximum from Tamir Siobodonskoy was not enough as Our Lady of Peace E were held to a 5-5 draw by Tidmarsh D.

Sonning Common & Peppard F won their sixth match in a row by a 7-3 margin by beating Reading FC A, Angus Jones gaining a treble.

Springfield B went clear in second place by beating Tilehurst Methodists D 8–2 with hat-tricks from Peter Gurney and Rob Wilkie.

Sonning Common & Peppard G lost their Division Five encounter with Springfield C 6-4 – Alan Goold, Tom Berryman and Rob Atack each winning two for the victors. An Oli Sayer double and Marko Madzar single, along with the doubles, accounted for SC&P’s wins.

Title favourites Our Lady of Peace F eased past Tidmarsh E 8-2.

Springfield D continued their recent return to form, by beating the BBC Club 8-2, Stephen Leggett recording another maximum, Paul Martin a double and Colin Jones a single, with Jack Mitchell recording both BBC’s wins, fighting back from 8-10 down in his fifth game, against Colin, to eventually win 14-12. Kingfisher L and Sonning Sports B fought to an honourable draw, a result which leaves both teams in the pack that is fighting for second place. For Kingfisher, Clive Gold recorded a maximum and Ken Robb a double while, for Sonning Sports, Florin Dimofte won two, including the crucial 10th set against David O’Keeffe, Sally James and Cris Reynolds both won one, before Sally and Cris partnered up to win the Doubles.

Reading FC C recorded their fifth win in a row by beating Milestone C 7-3, Derek Anderson leading the way with another maximum, ably assisted by team mates Wayne Alleyne, who won two, and Harry Edwards, who won one. For Milestone, John Evans won two and Carl Edlind won one.
